Vincenzo Viola's journey, today Executive Assistant Manager at Mangia's, between growth, trust and team spirit

Inside Mangia's | Growing in hospitality, with vision and leadership

Inside Mangia's was created with the goal of telling the stories of those who, every day, help shape our vision of hospitality. Different paths, international experiences, professional and personal choices intertwining in an authentic story of growth, ambition and continuous evolution.

This is the story of Vincenzo Viola, Executive Assistant Manager of Mangia's Sardinia Resort.

Let yourself be inspired by the journey that has shaped his vision.

Growing together with a team

«A football pitch, I'd say.»

If he had to choose a place that represents him, Vincenzo Viola wouldn't have any doubts.

Not so much for the sport itself, but for what that place represents.

«It's the place where you learn the value of teamwork, respect for roles, discipline and determination.»

A metaphor that also perfectly describes his way of living hospitality.

«I believe a Manager should be like a coach: build a united team, value every person and put everyone in a position to give their best.»

Twenty years of growth

Vincenzo's journey at Mangia's has lasted over twenty years.

A story built step by step.

The first stage came in 2006, when he joined the company as an entertainer.

«That's where I learned to listen to people, to work with enthusiasm and to always put the guest at the centre.»

Over the years came new responsibilities, increasingly complex roles and steady growth.

Until reaching resort management.

«I see it not as a destination, but as the beginning of an even greater responsibility.»

It all starts with the guests

Looking back on his early years spent in contact with guests, Vincenzo recognizes how much that experience still guides his work today.

«Every guest has a story, expectations and emotions.»

An awareness that taught him how much even the simplest gestures can matter.

«Even today I carry with me that attention to detail and that ability to listen.»

Because hospitality always starts with people.

Growth built day by day

There was no single moment when he realized Mangia's would become his professional home.

It was a natural process.

«Every season offered me new opportunities and new responsibilities.»

Over time he understood that it wasn't just a company.

It was a place to build his own future.

«I realized that Mangia's wasn't just a place to work, but a company where I could build my professional path.»

The phone call you never forget

Among all the memories of his career, there's one he still holds with particular emotion today.

The phone call he received on August 2, 2021 from President Marcello Mangia.

«It was a phone call I will never forget.»

That day he was given his first appointment as Manager.

«I felt a mix of pride, happiness and a sense of responsibility.»

Looking back on the journey made up to that point, he understood that the time had come to give back the trust he had received.

Being a Manager means being at the service of the team

Today, after many years and many different roles, Vincenzo has a very clear vision of leadership.

«Being a Manager means, above all, being at the service of the team.»

Making decisions.

Taking on responsibility.

Creating a positive work environment.

«The success of a resort is always the result of everyone's work.»

Leading by example

His way of leading people has also changed over time.

«At the beginning I thought that leading meant, above all, giving instructions.»

Today his perspective is different.

«I believe it means listening, motivating and setting an example.»

For him, leadership is built every day through consistency, respect and availability.

The strength of trust

After more than twenty years at the same company, what keeps motivating him is the chance to learn and to see people grow.

«Every season is different from the previous one.»

New challenges.

New goals.

New teams.

«Knowing I can contribute to guest satisfaction and to people's growth is what keeps giving me enthusiasm.»

Giving back what you've received

If there's one value Vincenzo feels he has received from Mangia's, it's trust.

«The company believed in me at the most important moments of my journey.»

A trust he now wants to pass on to the colleagues he works with.

«I would like to leave behind the same spirit: trust, respect, collaboration and the awareness that with commitment and passion you can achieve important goals.»

A lesson he also received from people who shaped his professional growth.

«Calogero Napoli and Franco Tarantino believed in me when I still had so much to learn.»

An example he now tries to pass on to the new generations.

«I believe trust is one of the most important gifts you can give a person.»

Looking ahead

For Vincenzo Viola, hospitality is above all a matter of people.

Of trust.

Of responsibility.

Of team spirit.

A journey built over more than twenty years of growth within the same company, with the conviction that the most important results are never individual.

But are always the result of a team that grows together.
