Villa Romana del Casale and Caltagirone
Spend a day discovering the Sicilian hinterland!
We will begin with the visit, with the addition of a supplement, of the Villa Romana del Casale, an ancient Roman residence consisting of 62 rooms and known worldwide for its beautiful mosaics.
We will stop for lunch in a typical restaurant and then leave for Caltagirone, the most important Sicilian center for the production of ceramics and majolica.
The city was destroyed by an earthquake in 1693, and then rebuilt in the Baroque style in the eighteenth century.
You can admire the Stairway of Santa Maria del Monte and the interesting Cathedral of San Giuliano. During the tour you will have free time to walk through the streets of the old town.
